Black Panther (2018) Black Filmmakers Series

The Texas Theatre and South Dallas Cultural Center are proud to present the 2nd annual Black Filmmaker Series in conjunction with Black History Month at the South Dallas Cultural Center.

Co-presented by the African American Museum of Dallas and City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs.

Program #3 – Sunday February 10th – Black Panther – Ryan Coogler burst onto the filmmaking scene at age 27 with the Sundance Award Winning Fruitvale Station which he parlayed into Hollywood with resuscitating the Rocky series with CREED and then giving an all new style and energy to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This year’s series features an eclectic mix of feature films and shorts. The goal of the series is to screen a variety of films directed by black directors historically and contemporarily, indie and mainstream, shorts and feature length films. An added bonus this series is the screen of shorts by students studying film at local colleges and universities. Screenings will take place during the month of February at Texas Theatre and the AT&T Auditorium at the African American Museum. All Five Programs only $1 each!
