“Meet Tammy, the Teenage Timebomb. 10 years of bottled-up frustration are about to explode!”
Teen Tammy Lynn Beaverdorf moves from God-fearing Mississippi to southern California and rapidly descends into a nihilistic spiral of diet pill abuse and random violence culminating in the mass murder of an entire theme park.
TUESDAY NIGHT TRASH – your humble narrator especially – is stoked to present director James Dillinger’s vicious, amphetamine-fueled black comedy BLONDE DEATH (1984) lovingly re-issued by the heads at BLEEDING SKULL! and VERBODEN VIDEO.
One of the most genuine expressions of Punk aesthetic ever put on video tape BLONDE DEATH is a gleeful “F YOU!” to the Reagan years, a queer revenge fantasy where death is preferable to suburban conformity and paranoia will kill you if the cops don’t get there first.
Until now only available via the rare VHS and a series of near unwatchable bootlegs, this new release has been transferred from the original 1″ master tape and looks as good as it’s ever going to considering its miniscule budget. Highly recommended for fans of filmmakers like Dave Markey, Jon Moritsugu, and Richard Kern, BLONDE DEATH is one of my favorite underground movies of the 80s and we’re thrilled that Zack and Bleeding Skull!/Verboden/Mondo are finally making a screening a reality. FREE ADMISSION! Show gets rolling about 9:15 PM. – TB
