TNT 117 – HauntedWeen (1991)
HAUNTEDWEEN (1991)
written and directed by Doug Robertson
starring Bowling Green, KY’s finest
HAUNTEDWEEN is a truly special piece of regional cinema, being filmed entirely in and around Bowling Green, Kentucky and starring mostly locals and dinner theater all-stars. We can’t even lie, it is shot pretty competently for a zero budget flick.
This charming little story centers around the frat house at the local university, which is in danger of closing down. And how are they going the raise the money to pay their dues? They are gonna have a rager and a haunted house at the old Burber house, that’s how! I wonder ever what happened to the old Burber house after that murder took place twenty years ago..? Ah who cares, it’s party time!
Perhaps the most enjoyable character in the film is “Hanks” (played by Brad Hanks) who is basically a Kentucky version of Screech, with a totally forced over-the-top accent that is so irritating you want him to die from the get-go. But he’s not like adorable nerdy Screech, more like creepy “The College Years” Screech….
As always the film is FREE, starts at 9:15, and preceeded by some pre-show clipshow Octuberence from the TNT crew… see y’all there!
