Living in America has become thrilling. Not always a good thrill and sometimes leaning toward horror so you can't blame us for feeling the BLEAK CINEMA vibes. Early Japanese freak-out hits like THE GRUDGE caught the world's attention but there's plenty more doom in PULSE! This jagged-channel-surfing-editing-style of found footage nightmare is all the distraction from the "real" world we need, and it's screened on 35MM to boot! Also on 35MM this week Texas based WHIP IT that showcases the roller derby revival that took the country by storm. Probably, if not definitely, the greatest comedy of all time, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN hits this week along side BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN with a little boost help from COWTON MOVIE CLASSICS. And you can check out the BIG AWARDS SHOW that may or may not be the ACADEMY AWARDS this weekend presented by OAK CLIFF FILM FEST. Plenty more to get your spring sprung below! - JR
