 In 1996 the indie film was having its golden era. The SUNDANCE darlings that would rule for the next decade were pumping out soon to be classics by the truck load and a handful of Texas filmmakers had the bug, made a short and then spent years developing that into what became BOTTLE ROCKET. As part of the newly minted TX AT THE TEXAS series WES ANDERSON's perennial favorite returns with some of the most quotable dialog ever and a humor that is specifically Texas.  INTERABANG BOOKS presents another cinema classic with MELVILLE's masterpiece LE SAMOURAÏ on 4k and sets up nicely THE SAMURAI AND THE PRISONER from KIYOSHI KUROSAWA who is NOT related to THAT Kurosawa, although this film certainly has echoes of THRONE OF BLOOD which was indeed by THAT Kurosawa... Yes it's a little confusing but both will give you bragging rights on LETTERBOXD.
