From Selma to Stonewall – Dallas Theatre Premiere
Are you there yet? Join us February 12th for 1 night only, “FROM SELMA TO STONEWALL; ARE WE THERE YET?” Dallas Premiere at the historic Texas Theatre. Thanks to Jimmy Creech for making this awesome video https://vimeo.com/199241144 discussing how people from different walks of life realize an earth-shattering discovery with a journey that will change your life forever!
You’ll find the film brilliant in scope, humorous, and achingly sad as this powerful film begins in Selma with the Civil Rights Movement and follows the LGBT RIghts Movement galvanized by Stonewall riots. Then, it delves into some of today’s most explosive and discussed subjects: racial injustice, police brutality, transgender discrimination, LGBTQ homelessness, and the intersection of these issues. The Texas Theatre Premiere FROM SELMA TO STONEWALL, explores Civil Rights and LGBTQ equality movements through the journey of two unlikely friends proving progress are the results of choices we make together. Showing their engagement in response to injustice with reciprocity for equal treatment and compassion is well within reach for us all.
