SANTOS VIVE

“Santos Vive” is a 90-minute documentary that highlights the history of Little Mexico, the first Mexican-American enclave in Dallas, dating back to the 1880s, and the 1973 murder of a 12-year old, Mexican boy named Santos Rodriguez, in Little Mexico, by a Dallas Police Officer, while being interrogated “Russian-roulette” style. The murder brought national attention to Dallas and led to a massive evolution in social justice, police reform and political diversity in Dallas over the next 50 years.

“Santos Vive” documents the series of events surrounding this horrific crime in 1973, and the efforts over the last 50 years to honor Santos Rodriguez and his family, which now include a statue and recreation center in his name at Pike Park near Downtown Dallas.
