Agricultural experiments cause the corpses of the recently dead to rise and cannibalize their way through the idyllic British countryside. A pair of stranded hippies attempt to warn the public while pursued by a fascist cop who believes they’re Manson-style spree killers. Things do not end well.

The inexplicably overlooked – and generally superior – precursor to the gut-munching Italian zombie films of the late 70’s/early 80s. Heavily influenced by Night of the Living Dead …Corpses maintains the social commentary of Romero’s classic while introducing the gory set pieces that would come to define the later work of directors like Lucio Fulci and Bruno Mattei.
