TNT176: BLOOD SISTERS (1987) + Pity Party // Upsetting // (LIVE Behind the Screen)

9/5 7:30 PM

For the first time ever, Tuesday Night Trash, in conjunction with NO COAST, will have live bands behind the screen after the film – Pity Party (bay area) and Upsetting (from NTX)!

BLOOD SISTERS (1987) is not your typical sorority slasher in that it was written and directed by Roberta Findlay, a controversial figure in feminist film study. The movie, which constantly passes the Bechdel test, has a bevy of female co-leads who carry much more complex motivations than most films in the genre allow. And while it still has the gratuitous nudity and violence one might expect, it also has a pace and story that invoke the emotionalism of a 70s psychodrama. This is undoubtedly due to Findlay’s experience in the adult/exploitation genre, having written/directed such titles as The Altar of Lust, Take me Naked and Shriek of the Mutilated, just to name a few. Come celebrate the beginning of the death of the hottest summer ever with a free flick and a cheap live show on a school night!

The movie will be free and begin at 7:30. Tickets for the bands after will be $12, so please buy those tickets early to support local and touring live music as we find new ways to keep Tuesday Night Trash the best thing to do on a Tuesday anywhere!
