Trash-Mex Double Feature: TREINTA SEGUNDOS PARA MORIR (1981) + WACO, TEXAS: APOCALIPSIS (1993)
9/30 7:30 PMFor National Hispanic Heritage Month, Texas Theatre and Tuesday Night Trash are proud to have very special guests from SoCal, Trash-Mex and See it on 16mm, to present a Spanish language double feature (with fresh subtitles) of two insane Texas-themed action flicks on the big screen!
First, at 7:30, Treinta Segundos Para Morir (1981) features brothers Mario and Fernando Almada and Ruben Benavides as three drug/arms smugglers with hearts of gold and very cool suits. The action gets thick but there’s plenty of room for musical numbers by the Almada boys in this narco-terror border-banger filmed in Brownsville!
Next, at 9:30, we have Waco, Texas: Apocalipsis (1993) an absolutely bonkers Koreshploitation retelling of the Waco/Branch Davidian conflict, also featuring Fernando Almada. This one is truly insane from beginning to end and should not be missed.
Throughout the evening, Trash-Mex and several other vendors will have merch in the lobby and there will be DJs in the booth all evening throwing down todos exitos on vinyl!
Doors, DJs and vendors at 6:30 so come early and stay late at our award-winning bar at the Texas Theatre!
Throughout the evening, Trash-Mex and Fast Custom Shirts will have merch in the lobby and there will be DJs Gabe Mendoza and CheddaBrown from the Rendezvous LA crew in the booth all evening throwing down todos exitos on vinyl!
