Mercury Rev will assume a moniker they’ve occasionally used during the last decade, Clear Light Ensemble, along with minded multi-instrumentalists like Jesse Chandler will build out a live organic compliment to the film. Instruments as far ranging as saws, bells, organs, and flutes co-mingle with modern synths, guitars and percussion to offer a reimagined film score.
Mercury Rev has been a notable name in alternative rock since the band formed in Buffalo, New York, in the 1980s. Their 1998 strings-drenched release Deserter’s Songs was named “Best Album of the Year” by NME Magazine and was recently voted in the Top 200 albums of all time by Uncut Magazine.
