​”Tomcat`s Big Adventure” is a 1994 Japanese animated feature directed by Ryūtarō Nakamura, renowned for his work on “Serial Experiments Lain.” The film is adapted from the children`s book “Adventures of Tom the Small Cat” by Masumi Iino and Yumiko Imai. ​

 

The story follows Tom, a young cat, and his friends embarking on a summer adventure. During their exploration, they encounter Chiki, a mysterious pink balloon-like creature, who informs them of an impending threat to Earth. To prevent the planet`s destruction, the group must retrieve six missing pieces of Chiki`s body, leading them on a journey filled with challenges and discoveries. ​
