2001: A Space Odyssey – New 4K Un-Restoration
I’m sorry Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.” — Hal 9000
Stanley Kubrick’s ultimate masterwork 2001: A Space Odyssey returns in a new “un-restored” 4K DCP supervised by Christopher Nolan for its 50th Anniversary.
Per Nolan : “For the first time since the original release, this version was struck from new printing elements made from the original camera negative. This is a true photochemical film recreation. There are no digital tricks, remastered effects, or revisionist edits. This is the unrestored film – that recreates the cinematic event that audiences experienced fifty years ago.”
The audio tracks are the 1968 original theatrical English soundtrack (non-restored) in 5.1 configuration (full range theatrical)
